Product description
Rapid Dark Circle Repair Eye Cream instantly wakes up fatigued eyes and starts to reduce the look of dark circles in just one week. Formulated with our exclusive accelerated brightening complex, this nourishing eye cream works to make under-eye skin tone more even and diffuse the look of dark circles while light reflecting minerals brighten eyes.
varies from $19.99 at Target to $20.99 at Neutrogena.com for 0.13 oz
nice, simple packaging
product makes bold claims about improving dark circles in a week, very skeptical
smells like other Neutrogena skin care products with a light, medicinal smell (I don't mind it)
do not like the brush applicator
My thoughts
In the directions, it says to twist the bottom of package until product appears on brush (may take up to 10 twists the first time). It actually took me 20 twists or so. The cream is flesh colored with a slight grey undertone to it. Once applied to the skin, it blends in. For the first week I used this twice a day, morning and night. I do not like the brush applicator and find it messy. As far as improving dark circles in a week, I didn't see any difference. I've never really suffered from dark circles but, as I get older, I do notice slight discoloration under my eyes. I'm almost positive this eye cream would not show any improvements for someone with extreme dark circles. I did use this in the mornings for a second week to give the product some time to work its magic, ahem.
Final Thoughts
I won't be touching this eye cream again. I saw no difference in the slight discoloration under my eyes and do not find this hydrating enough for the winter, especially at night. I also didn't like how the eye cream would come out of the packaging in clumpy bits. If you're looking for a good drugstore eye cream, I'd go with the L'oreal Revitalift Anti-wrinkle + Firming Eye cream (1.7 oz $17.99). It has way more product, is slightly cheaper, and hydrates the eye area. Concealer, plenty of water and sleep provide better results for improving dark circles than the Neutrogena Dark Circle Repair Eye Cream!
Thanks for stopping by!
