Tarte Showstopper Clay Palette Review

Not too long ago Sephora had their VIB sale where everything was 15% off. My plan this year was to abstain from any Sephora purchases that weren't during the VIB sales. I believe the next big one is in November where all purchases are 20% off! Anyway, I spotted the Tarte Showstopper palette that was released as a part of their summer 2015 collection, and couldn't resist the temptation to purchase it. This is currently available at Sephora, Ulta, and Tarte for $38.

This palette consists of six Amazonian Clay eyeshadows, Park Ave Princess bronzer, highlighter in champagne pink, and the 12 hour blush in Fame.

The packaging is a thick circle or disc that feels sturdy and of good quality. The outer packaging is a deep purple, alligator/lizard like print with a gold outer edging. Inside there is a giant mirror.

The names of the shadows and face products are not engraved in the palette itself. Instead Tarte provided a clear plastic sheet with the names of the products. The sheet doesn't photograph nicely and just gets in the way. It would be nice if brands printed shade names on the palette itself.

The three complexion products this palette comes with:
Park Ave Princess bronzer (0.14oz) in a demi matte finish in a neutral medium-dark brown. The texture is soft and silky and blends easily. This will flatter all skin types.
Champagne Pink highlighter (0.14oz) in a satin finish. This is a beautiful highlighter which adds a natural and luminous glow.
Fame blush (0.21oz) in a peachy coral shade with a satin finish perfect for the spring/summer seasons. This is nicely pigmented so make sure to use a lighter hand. It takes some work to blend out if you apply too much and gives a natural flush to the cheeks.

All the eyeshadows are neutral and warm toned, creamy, pigmented, easy to work with, finely milled, and have no fall out. Steal the Scene is a little less creamy compared to the other shades but is still a great shadow. Four of the shades are shimmery and two are matte which offer a variety of looks with a good selection of shadows.
Showstopper Copper bronze copper with silver sparkles
Go for the Gold soft gold brown with a frost
You're a Natural matte peachy brown
Steel the Scene brownish taupe with a frost
Rose to the Top metallic rose gold
Dim the Lights semi matte black brown

You will need a primer to make the shadows last but the wear time is around five hours on their own before they start to fade a bit. The palette comes with a guide to create two looks, work day and soiree, for a day and night look.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I love this palette and it will come in handy for travel since there are eyeshadows, a bronzer, highlighter, and blush. Usually people look for brighter colors in the spring/summer seasons but I like that the palette contains neutral colors. You get some good quality products for $38 which is reasonably priced and can create a complete look with this.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
Jennifer
