Product Empties #3

I've manged to collect some empties this month other than sheet masks. Looking at the pile of product empties is a good way to assess if I'm going to purchase or repurchase at the end of use. I've talked about some of the products extensively in a review or whatnot so I'll link the posts below.

Forever Flawless Diamond Infused Cleansing Complex ($99)
This consists of a unique blend of exclusive minerals, essential oils, and botanical extracts. Extra fine diamond powder is added to the formula to gently exfoliate, allowing the multi-vitamin nutrients to penetrate the skin's surface. Effectively washes away makeup and impurities, soothes, hydrates, and refreshes. Your skin will feel clean, soft, and younger.

I know, $99!!?? I mentioned this before but my husband bought a line of products from this brand and got a package deal. It was still insanely expensive but my face was at the height of a cystic acne invasion. I was desperate to try anything and the salesperson was incredibly persuasive. Anyway, this is a good face wash for the winter as it's hydrating and soothing but by no means washes away makeup or has my skin looking younger. For a face wash that's $99 I'd expect almost miraculous results.
Verdict-Will not repurchase.

Rodan + Fields Redefine Lip Renewing Serum ($54)
Read here for my thoughts in a previous review. This was another product I enjoyed during the winter months when my lips tend to be more flaky and dry. I mentioned this did break me out around the lips if I wasn't careful about the application. The last ten capsules or so I noticed I was breaking out again. It wasn't a huge deal since they were little bumps but annoying nonetheless.
Verdict-I'm a maybe about purchasing these. If my lips are really dry and flaky next winter I might need these, but it's not a must have product for me.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel ($25 for 1oz)
An allergy-tested, fragrance-free daily treatment gel for acne-clearing results equal to a leading topical prescription. This ultrapowerful daily treatment gel is powered by Clinique’s four-in-one Clearing Complex with salicylic acid to start clearing blemishes instantly and help prevent new ones from forming.

I don't typically use products with salicylic acid as spot treatments but I decided to give this a try after hearing positive feedback about it. Usually benzoyl peroxide is more effective with cystic acne and salicylic acid is better for blackheads. The gel didn't irritate or dry out my spots but I found no improvement in my acne or the blackheads on my nose. I don't have as much active acne compared to a year ago but I still like to use spot treatments to prevent flare ups. I'll go back to benzoyl peroxide products in the future.
Verdict-Will not repurchase.

Calmia Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream ($34)
Rooibos aqua sprinkler gel is a pudding-textured moisturizing gel which can be used as a all-in-one cosmetic for skin booster, toner, emulsion, essence, and gel cream.  Rooibos extracts and sparkling water delivers nutrition-rich minerals and deep hydration to your skin.  Uniquely, it can be sprayed on like a mist from a distance, but when you pump it close to the skin, the texture comes out like a whitish gel cream.

Loved this stuff! I used this like an essence in my skincare routine. I wasn't a fan of the pump because it would squirt out uncontrollably and catch me off guard. I ended up pumping the gel cream into my hand and then applying it to my face. This has a light citrus scent which is right up my alley. The texture is also very light and absorbs into the skin quickly.
Verdict- I would absolutely repurchase this again but it's not sold in the Memebox shop anymore.

Cellbydate The Real Galacto Zero Essence ($12)
Uses galactomyces ferment filtrate (aimed for sensitive or acne prone skin) and is moisturizing, oil and ph balancing, revitalizing, soothing and skin boosting. Also contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids, and doesn't contain parabens, artificial colourings, preservatives, alcohol or fragrance.

This was a free gift included in a past Memebox I ordered. There was no product description on the card for this so I had to do a bit of digging to get some information about it. You use this after cleansing in place of or in addition to a toner. Apparently it's more concentrated than a toner and has more benefits. This could be compared to SK-II Pitera Essence (which I've never used) because it contains the same main ingredient, galactomyces ferment filtrate. I treated this more like a facial spray because I poured the essence into a spray pump bottle. I don't have a concrete reason for doing this but it was my preference.
Verdict-I'm on the fence about this because I didn't notice anything different about my skin while using this. At the same time it was refreshing to spray on my face and it's an affordable $12 for a product that lasted forever.

Pantene Beautiful Lengths Strengthening Shampoo ($4.99)
Longer, stronger, faster. Cleanse and nourish your strands while fortifying against breakage so you can grow your hair longer and donate faster.

I have so many samples of shampoo and conditioner so I've been trying to use some of them. This particular line is for a good cause since they help women who have lost their hair to cancer treatments. I used this shampoo and conditioner years ago when my best friend introduced me to it. I think I stopped using it because Pantene either discontinued the line or it was difficult to find. I feel like the shampoo has been reformulated but am not entirely sure. I like the scent; it smells like fragranced bananas if that makes any sense. I don't think Pantene hair products are all that good for the hair but I have to say my hair looked smoother and less frizzy. On occasion when I skipped a day of washing my hair, it would look greasy after I washed it with this. This wasn't a problem when I washed every day but I do have oily/greasy hair. Side note: I finally got a hair cut after 9 months!!!
Verdict-Might repurchase again but want to try some other samples first.

And then the patches and sheet masks:
Etude House Collagen Eye Patch ($1 at Etude House)
Formulated with collagen to revitalize and improve the appearance around eyes.
These have been in my previous empties and they're not bad. I wish the patches were a little easier to take out of the packaging as it can get rather messy when taking them out. They do the job but I want to try other eye patches out there.

TonyMoly My Little Pet Wrinkle Line and Eye Patches
I recently reviewed these so you can read about them here and here.
Verdict-Would repurchase the wrinkle line patches but not the eye patches.

Leaders Insolution Coconut Gel Brightening Recovery Mask ($3.50 at Memebox)
This all-natural coconut gel mask works to brighten and revitalize dull and uneven skin tones. Formulated with functional ingredients such as Telangyn, you can notice your skin becoming flawless with continuous usage. Extracts from plants and flowers help repair discoloration and ingredients rich in vitamin restores vitality and balance to the skin.

A few months ago I had a weird reaction to the coconut gel mask and was hesitant about trying it again. I'm happy to say I had no reaction afterwards and it's about to become my favorite brand for sheet masks. I didn't notice huge results immediately afterwards besides the usual moisturizing benefits. However, the next morning my face looked visibly brighter and some of my red acne scars weren't as pronounced. Amazeballs.

Leaders Coconut Gel Mask with Tomato/Orange ($2.75 at Memebox)
Orange mask:This sheet mask contains orange extract that is abundant in Vitamin C and AHA, boosting collagen and brightening the skin. Vitamin C works great for treating dark spots and reducing its appearance on the skin. This mask helps rejuvenate and restore dull skin giving it a vibrant youthful glow
Tomato mask: This contains a powerful antioxidant, Lycopene, which gives the skin elasticity and resilience by keeping harmful environmental factors out and locking moisture in. This substance also helps reduce redness, minimizes pores and revives the skin’s healthy glow.

Forgot to mention there's so much remaining essence left over in the packet that I managed to use it all over my elbows, hands, neck, and face for the next two days. The essence doesn't dry up and you don't need to worry about sealing the packet. With so much essence included, these sheet masks are a bargain.

Etude House and Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Masks
These sheet masks have also been included in previous empties posts. They do the job but the masks aren't amazing. They're incredibly affordable and both brands frequently offer promotions on the masks like buy 10, get 10 free. I will not repurchase these again because alcohol is very high on the ingredient list. If this is not a concern for you, they are a nice addition to any skincare routine.

As always, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Jennifer
