This is the last box I'll be talking about to finish off Memebox week. It's been like Christmas waiting for these pink boxes to arrive. Next week I do have some long overdue reviews coming so make sure to stop by.

[Jungsun X Memebox] Basics Liquid Eyeliner #01 Black Stiletto ($10)

This felt tip quid eyeliner applies so precisely that you never have to worry about messing up. Rock the perfect cat eye like a high fashion model! Long-lasting, smudge proof formula.

I'm embarrassed to admit that l can't use liquid eyeliners. I've tried a few times to draw a nice straight line but always butcher it. In fact the last time I practiced with one, I had a skype conversation with my father and he thought I had a black eye. I haven't touched a liquid eyeliner since then and haven't had the patience to practice a cat eye.
In the latest episode of the Korean beauty show, Get It Beauty, they had the audience bring a secret item that would be useful for makeup. The winner brought a spoon! You can put the spoon above your eye to lift the skin and apply eyeliner or use it for mascara with your top and bottom lashes. The spoon is a gentler way to lift the skin (less wrinkling) and can provide a quick cooling effect for puffiness. She made it look really easy and the professional makeup artist that appeared later in the show seemed impressed by the tip. It would be nice if I could manage to use a liquid liner because they are longer lasting and smudge proof in general compared to pencils, gels, or shadow liners.

This was sent to me late for some reason so I'd already seen spoilers for what the box contained. As soon as I saw the box included a randomly selected Haena palette, I knew I was going to receive #01 with my luck. I purchased the Haena Kitty C:at box not too long ago which contained the #01 Street palette. Of course, I received the same palette. Anyway, this is a good palette that I reach for on a regular basis but I don't need two! The shades are great neutral shadows and good quality. If you don't already own similar shades, this is a nice palette to add to your collection.

[Hoyeon X Memebox] Punk Matte Lipstick randomly selected from #01, 02, and 03 ($15)

Matte never goes out of style. But it can be hard to pull off because it's drying and high maintenance. All matte lipsticks from our Top Model collections use the same hydrating formula that dries to a non-drying matte finish. You also won't need to compromise pigmentation, what you see in the tube is what you get.
These are the shades: #01 Manish Red, #02 Retro Pink, #03 Graffiti Pink

I was kind of hoping for #01 but I just can't get a break in the luck department with this box. I received #02 which isn't a bad shade but I already own matte lipsticks in similar shades. The lipstick has a very, very faint fruity scent that I like and no taste (yay) unlike the XO Memebox lipsticks. The formula and pigmentation are nice so I'll add the lipstick to my makeup bag.

Skinfood Fresh Celery Cleansing Tissue ($4)

Product Description
A good cleanse is a must for maintaining that young, fresh out of the magazine face. This cleansing tissue features celery extract that removes makeup residue and impurities without a sticky after feel.

I rarely use makeup wipes unless I go for a workout in the middle of the day. In that case I just need something quick to get the majority of my makeup off before I sweat at the gym. Otherwise, I'll use wipes to remove swatches so it doesn't matter to me if it's sticky or not. Alcohol is the third ingredient in this along with parabens at the end of the list. This won't be going on my face so I'll use it for swatching.

It's Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Cream 3.5g ($14)

Product Description
This powerful, luxurious moisturizer draws and seals in long lasting hydration with hyaluronic acid, which holds up to one thousand times its weight in water. Hyaluronic acid is also a powerful brightening agent, so treat yourself to this cream at night and you will wake up to an even, bright complexion. The vitamin and mineral rich formula leaves skin feeling firmer and softer with a dewy appearance.

I'm happy to see a moisturizer in here and it sounds like something I need except for one small issue...there's dimethicone in the moisturizer!

Now I do use primers that have dimethicone because that's what smooths over my large pores and fills in fine lines and wrinkles. You can wash primer off at the end of the day but moisturizer remains on the skin afterwards. I'll give this away to someone who doesn't have any skin sensitivity or issues, sigh.

Reasons why dimethicone is bad for your skin:
It traps everything under it—including bacteria, sebum, and impurities—which could lead to increased breakouts and blackheads
The coating action actually prevents the skin from performing its normal activities—like sweating, temperature regulating, sloughing off dead skin cells.
Prolonged exposure to dimethicone can actually increase skin irritation.
Those with sensitive or reactive skin are at risk of an allergic reaction to dimethicone.
On top of all this, dimethicone is a non-biodegradable chemical and for the environment.

Naexy Genius Mask Pack #10 Luminant ($4)

Product Description
Formulated with niacinamide known for whitening and brightening effects, as well as licorice and mulberry root extracts to reduce and prevent melanin and hyperpigmentation caused by strong UV rays.

I love sheet masks so this is something I'll use. At the top half of the packaging there's a brightening ampoule which you spread on to the face and then you take out the sheet mask. This will most likely be in an empties post at the end of the month so I'll give my thoughts about this at that time.

Final Thoughts
This box was $38 with a value of $62. I paid $29.30. Only 3 out of 6 of the products will be useful to me but, ironically, I didn't think this was a bad box. It was just some bad luck on my part with already owning the eye palette and needing to be extra careful of what ingredients I put on my very acne prone skin. Like I mentioned previously, you're taking a gamble when you order these boxes so be prepared for some disappointment and some new discoveries. The other option is to order value sets so you can research the ingredient list and know exactly what you're purchasing ahead of time.
