Memebox Dark Spots Be Gone Box

I know, I know, you're thinking "ANOTHER MEMEBOX?" But this box was calling my name, seriously! I've got "battle marks" or hyperpigmentation from my war with hormonal cystic acne so dark spots be gone is the perfect box for me. I don't want to fork over money for a trip to the dermatologist (which I have done before only to end up with pitted scars) so I resorted to the next best option, Korean skincare.


Box Description

We all dream of even toned skin. Unfortunately many of us can suffer from dark spots (hyperpigmentation) which can shatter those dreams of a perfect complexion. No need to stress though there are plenty of ways to combat it and Korean skincare has got you covered!


There are 5 products in the box.

Skin79 Sweet Honey Sugar 100ml ($14)

This magical scrub can accelerate the skin's rejuvenation process. This highly moisturizing scrub boasts many nutritious ingredients: raw sugar, brown rice oil, macadamia nut oil, cacao, honey, and shea butter. These ingredients work to reveal beautiful, radiant skin.

I'm almost out of The Face Shop's Black Sugar scrub so it's nice to have a scrub ready to use.

Although there is propylparaben (second to last ingredient listed) in the scrub, I'll try it out and see how my skin reacts to it. The scrub smells like dessert, a combination of raisins and honey.


Holika Holika Skin & AC Mild Sebum-X Mirror Cream 50ml ($27)

This facial cream is formulated with laurel leaf extract, micro apple water, and arugula extract. This pure, clear cream takes care of problem areas by effectively removing sebum while moisturizing skin.

I'm in need of a summer moisturizer and I think it's a gel moisturizer which is even better. I don't want to open the jar quite yet since I'm not sure if I'll use it or pass it along to someone else. This contains ethanol and I understand this is what helps with oily skin and removing sebum. I'm just not sure my skin will react kindly to alcohol but I'll have to assess the condition of my skin in a month or two before I decide.


Banila Co. Dr. Hide Concealer Duo SPF15 PA++ 9g ($22)

Removing dark spots may take some time and patience, in the meantime a good concealer can do the job. This two color duo product contains a face and an eye concealer. Comes with a brush applicator to make precise application effortless.

Somehow hair from the brush applicator go into the darker concealer.

Concealers are my best friend so I always welcome them. The darker shade is a little to orange-y for me but it might work. The concealer is very creamy and easy to work with and blend into the skin.

Leaders Illuminating Treatment Mask ($3.50)

This patent mask can brighten and even out the complexion. Formulated with ingredients that suppress melanin production, this mask was especially formulated to help those with uneven skin tone.

I just used the Leaders Coconut Gel Brightening mask the other day and noticed visible improvement on my face the next morning. I'm sure this will be another good sheet mask to use.


It's Skin Power 10 Formula WH Effector 30ml ($11)

This serum is formulated with arbutin and whitening agents that tackle dark spots to reveal a brighter skin tone. The ingredients minimize the production of melanin and protect against harmful UV rays.

I've been super curious about these Power 10 Formulas for awhile now. Not sure why it's spelled "formual" in the picture above. Unfortunately there's methylparaben in this so I'm torn between giving this away or attempting to use it.

I have heard these can be quite oily on the skin so this might not be the best product to use in the summer.


Final Thoughts

Despite grumbling about the ingredients in some of the products, this is a well curated box. It's probably one of the best boxes I've received in awhile. The box was $39 with a value of $75.50. I paid $33.15 for it.
