Memebox Fine & Flawless Box

It's Memebox week at Jenn loves beauty and this is yet another themed box I couldn't resist. The theme "fine and flawless" piqued my curiosity and, honestly, who doesn't want fine & flawless skin?

We made this box for those of us who want to look good EVERYDAY. Being flawless all the time shouldn't be so hard, and now it doesn't have to be! Lioele Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base-Pink (30ml $20.40)

Product Description
We absolutely love the dewy skin look, and this blooming shimmer base makes your skin look refreshed and radiant. This base is formulated with pearl powder to transform skin from dull to moisturized and radiant. You can use it under your BB cream as a primer, over your makeup as a highlighter, or you can mix it right into your BB cream.

Hm, I have no feelings about this base whatsoever. I see this as an extra step that's unnecessary for a quick makeup routine. It might be too shimmery for me to use in the summer and emphasize acne marks on my face. I'm not sure if I'll hold on to this or pass it along.

Leaders 2 Step Pore Tightening Mask ($6)

Product Description
This consists of two masks-one that covers the top portion of your face, and a mask that tightens your V-line. This two step mask is formulated from ginseng and caffeine, both of which can relieve swelling and puffiness. This duo mask set also has the power to tighten and shrink the appearance of your pores, exfoliate away dead skin cells, and control sebum production. In 20 minutes you're on your way to fine and flawless skin!

I've never tried this kind of mask but like the sound of it with shrinking pores and controlling sebum. The V-line thing I'm skeptical about because I've got the squarest face on the planet, thanks to genetics. Koreans and their alphabetical body lines and face lines. In general Koreans have naturally rounder faces and rounder chins. The concept of a V-line is to have your jaw come to a V point which creates the look of a smaller face, and small faces are viewed as beautiful and coveted in Korea. That's all fine and well to me BUT the horrifying part is the plastic procedure that goes along with it.

Women have their jaws reshaped and shaved down to be less round and more sharp, ouch! Well known Korean actress Shin Eun Kyung has been vocal about her jaw line surgery and painful recovery. I think she even mentioned in an interview that it needed to be done a few times to correct something that went wrong with the surgery.

Or you could use this jaw roller, massager contraption. I'll just stick to this mask and be thankful for the features my parents gave me.

It's Skin Vita Cleansing Foam: Vita E (150ml $11)

Product Description
This cleansing foam can effectively cleanse the skin without stripping it of essential oils. Formulated with effective ingredients like Vitamin E, squalane, and sunflower seed oil. Vitamin E provides protection against aging and sun damage. Shea, squalane, and sunflower seed oil act as moisturizers and maintain the proper balance of your skin's oil.

Okay Memebox, no more face cleansers please! I have enough to get me through the next decade. There are no sulfates in this cleansing foam so that's a plus but, again, I could do without it. I was hoping to see a serum, facial mist, or moisturizer in this box.

Lioele Perfect Jumbo Concealer (3.5g $13.60)

Product Description
Concealer is an absolute must for most of us. Dark circles, blemishes, dark spots...we all have them That's why we're always on the hunt for the next best concealer. In our search we've come across this effective Liole concealer. It's formulated to be creamy, easy to apply, and allows for buildable coverage.

This concealer has a light and pleasantly fresh scent. It also seems like it will be a good color match for me in terms of covering acne scars and dark spots. I like concealer sticks because you can carry it around with you and touch up later in the day. Hopefully this has some lasting power which creamy concealer sticks don't usually seem to have.

XO Memebox I'm Lipstick-randomly selected ($8)

Product Description
Lipsticks are essential for an everyday flawless face. This is from our very own private label line and formulated to enhance your natural lip color with it's bold pigments. Jojoba seed oil forms a moisturizing coat over the lips to minimize flaking and drying and creates a long lasting lip.

I received #04 Pink Beige Nude. (I've been pretty happy with the Membox brand makeup I've purchased so far. I love their lip crayons and own all six shades!) If you're into nudes, this is the color for you. This lipstick doesn't have a scent but there is an interesting taste to it. The formula is moisturizing with a semi-matte finish but I'm not crazy about the after taste.


Final Thoughts

This box was $38 with a value of $65. I paid $32.30 for this with a coupon code. I've been happy with almost every one of the Memeboxes I've purchased so far but this was just "meh" to me. The most exciting thing would be the Leaders mask. I'm fine with the concealer since I'm always looking to cover acne scars on my face. The other three products I could do without and will most likely go to a happier home. I wasn't happy with this box but it won't stop me from purchasing more in the future. You always take a risk with mystery and themed boxes but I like the element of surprise that goes with it.
