XO Memebox Perfect Cover Set Review

It feels like forever since I've reviewed a product so let's take a closer look at the Memebox Perfect Cover Set ($30 value for $15) in Light Beige, which includes an I'm Foundation and I'm Concealer.


I'm Foundation Description (30g $20)

I'm Concealer Description (10g $9)

Full coverage and moisturizing liquid type concealer designed to cover major imperfections such as scars, hyperpigmention, and other blemishes for the look of perfect skin. Dries to a powdery finish.

Price
At the time I purchased this a few weeks ago, the set was priced at $24. I was also able to use a 15% coupon code with this. Currently the set is available for $15 which is a total bargain!

My Thoughts

I always like the packaging of Memebox products and this applies to the Perfect Cover Set as well. The foundation and concealer are housed in a simple but practical squeeze tube. Look how similar the packaging of the Memebox concealer and Make Up For Ever Full Cover concealer are.

Warning, there is a scent to this foundation. I don't notice it as much with the concealer but fragrance is in the ingredient list for both. I'm not sure why there needs to be a fragrance in foundation in the first place. It kind of makes you wonder what products smell like without an added fragrance. Anyway, the scent of the foundation is similar to the Holika Holika Aqua Petit BB I reviewed not too long ago. This has the same fresh and floral scent except the smell lingers for much longer than I would like.

Both the foundation and concealer are thick in consistency so you need to work a little harder to blend both products in. The foundation feels a little sticky after application but quickly goes away once it dries.

Since there are only 2 shades to choose from, it may be difficult to find a match. Luckily #21 Beige Cover and #01 Vanilla are a decent match for me.

There is no oxidation and the foundation does not feel heavy on the face. The concealer also does an excellent job of covering hyperpigmentation spots. I used both a brush and Real Techniques sponge to apply the foundation and preferred the brush. If you don't need full coverage, use the sponge or a beauty blender to apply.  The finish is demi matte, a healthy balance between dewy and matte. The wear time is a good 6-7 hours but I did need to blot my face about 3-4 hours in.

Initially I thought there was no SPF in the foundation because it's not mentioned in the description or packaging. However, titanium dioxide is the third ingredient on the list so this must contain sun protection.

I always wear sunscreen underneath my foundations or BB/CC creams even if it contains SPF. You shouldn't expect makeup products to provide enough protection from the sun and think of it more as an added bonus.

Final Thoughts
Just as I'd expect of the Memebox brand, this is a good quality foundation and concealer. Since I have combination/oily skin in the warmer months, I won't be reaching for this often. (This would work much better for me during the fall and winter seasons) The foundation and concealer noticeably wear off in the T-zone area, particularly the sides of my nose, and any oilier parts of the face. I do use a primer, set with powder, and set again with a makeup spray. If you are in search of a full coverage foundation and concealer and have normal to dry skin, this will be perfect for you and it's only $15 for both products.
