My Thoughts
I was more than happy to try this out since my teeth have become stained and yellowish with age. I have never smoked, do not drink alcohol, do not drink coffee, and drink tea maybe once every few months unless I come down with a cold. However I do like food that can cause staining like blueberries, various sauces, candy, ect. Anyway, I try to take really good care of my teeth and brush 2-3 times a day.
I wasn't thrilled about the 2 step process merely because my dental routine already feels time consuming. Brush, floss, use mouthwash and then add another step to the process? In any case I was willing to give the system a try to have wonderful pearly teeth at the end of the road.
The consistency of the Purifying cleanser is pretty thick and gooey, something I had to get used to. The Perfecting Gel is clear and tastes like celery, a vegetable that I avoid like the plague unless it's deeply embedded in other ingredients.
After brushing with Step 1, you are supposed to spit out the cleanser and refrain from rinsing. I had the hardest time adjusting to the do not rinse, particularly when I would mindlessly brush my teeth. You can spit/rinse after using the gel, Step 2. I use the system morning and night since the directions state to use this twice daily for optimal results. After the first week of use I noticed no difference with whiter teeth and the stains on my teeth. I've been using this for a little over a month now and don't really see any results. I keep badgering my husband to see if he noticed a difference in my teeth and he sees no difference.
Final Thoughts
It should come as no surprise that I gave the Crest Pro Health HD system a thumbs down and will not purchase this in the future. If the product gave me results I would be able to forgive the weird consistency of Step 1, the bad celery taste of Step 2, and the extra one minute it took to "polish and whiten" my teeth. Both products also left a weird aftertaste and thickness in my mouth. I love the Crest Pro Health mouthwash so it was very disappointing to encounter the lack of results in these products. In my opinion, you should stick to the Crest Whitestrips for faster results. I would use them regularly but the strips make my gums and teeth sensitive. One thing to note, if you do end up purchasing the system, there is a satisfaction guaranteed or your money back on the back of the packaging.
