Bare Minerals Loud & Clear Lip Sheer Review

Product Description
Amp up lips with a translucent splash of vivid high fidelity color and soft glistening shine. This sheer gel delivers maxed-out moisture with shea butter and jojoba seed oil for nourished and conditioned lips.

There are 5 shades available:
Amped Pink (sheer fuchsia pink)
Berry Remix (sheer ripe berry)
Tangerine Trance (sheer citrus orange)
Cherry Beat (sheer crimson)
Pink Pulse (sheer strawberry kiss)

Price
Each lip sheer is $16 for 0.07 oz. These were sold in a duo set for $18 at Sephora in their sale section. I was able to use a 20% promo code in addition to the sale price bringing the final cost to $14.40. Currently these are sold individually at UltaBare Escentuals, and Nordstrom.

Ingredients

My Thoughts
The two shades I have are Pink Pulse and Cherry Beat. The packaging is silver, shiny, sleek, and slim. There's an interesting scent to the lip sheers, a combination of orange and these Flintstone chewable vitamins I used to take when I was a child. I don't find it to be a terrible smell but it's not one I'd care to sniff over and over. Not that I was trying to eat these but there's an orange flavor to them as well.
Pink Pulse, Cherry Beat
I'm not a fan of lip gloss because a)it's sticky and b)my hair sticks to my lips. These lip sheers look like there's gloss on the lips without the stickiness. The consistency is slick and gel-like. They glide on easily and don't pull or drag at the lips. The color lasts for about two hours but the hydration from the lip sheers lasts for a period of time beyond the wear of the product. Pink Pulse looks clear on my lips while there's more of a color payoff with Cherry Beat. These would be ideal for someone who wants just a hint of color with the moisture of a lip balm.

Final Thoughts
I give the lip sheers a 7/10 rating. I find them to be extremely moisturizing and use Pink Pulse as a lip balm at night. The only reason I don't give it a higher rating is the price. I was able to purchase them for $7.70 a piece if you break it down. That's about how much I'd pay for them, maybe 20 cents more to round it up to $8. However, paying $16 for one lip sheer is a little ridiculous to me. I have some other products that are similar to these from the drugstore that are more affordable. Although I do like the formula of these, I highly suggest buying them when Bare Escentuals is running a sale or when Ulta has a 20% off sale on everything with no restrictions.

Thanks for stopping by,
Jennifer
