March 2015 Favorites

It's not quite the end of March but it was clear which products were my favorites this month. I didn't have a February favorites up because all of them were products I'd already reviewed. This month I do have some repeats so I'll include the links where I've previously written about them.

Let's start with face products.
Nasarang Premium Herb BB Cream SPF50 PA+++ 30g ($46)
A blemish balm made from various herbal and grain extracts, this is a premium BB cream for anti-wrinkle care, UV protection, and complexion brightening. It will replenish moisture to the skin, leaving it beaming with a natural glow. It can be used for almost all skin types since it doesn't necessarily whiten your skin color, it will only smooth out and cover skin imperfections.

This came in my Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics which is no longer sold on the site, sorry! I've done a basic search to find places where the BB cream is sold but have had no luck. Nasarang was founded in 2010 by a Korean venture company, GreenZone, oriented towards the harmony of nature and mankind. Nasarang skincare products are made of high quality aroma oil and herb extract only without synthetic fragrances. You can request products on TesterKorea and they usually find and sell them on the site within a short period of time. $46 is overpriced for this BB cream as much as I love it. I have complete faith that Tester will sell it for a much lower price.

When I first tried this product, I didn't like it. I thought it made my face too dewy and an oily mess by the end of the day. I tried it for a few days and then gave up. This sat in a drawer for a few months and I decided to give it another try this month. I'm not sure what changed (maybe the addition of a primer) but I use this a few times a week now. This has a light herbal scent which is pleasant to me. Every once in awhile I also think I catch a faint whiff of mushrooms. You only need a dime sized amount to cover your face and this offers medium coverage. Out of the tube the shade is a little dark for my complexion but it matches my skin tone once blended. I always set this with powder because this leaves my face greasier than most foundations. If you have straight up oily skin, you may not like this since it will require blotting and powdering constantly throughout the day. However, I like this because it's a low maintenance product, has SPF, good coverage but feels lighter than a foundation, and wears well for most of the day.

Dayeong XO Black Stick Foundation
Another Memebox item which I've previously reviewed here. I use this on days when I don't wear the Nasarang BB cream. This continues to be my favorite foundation and I'll repurchase when I run out!

The Yeon Jeju Hallabong Energy Mild All-in-one Serum 100mL ($20)
The Hallabong energy series boosts its organic formula made from the 'Hallabong' which is a special type of orange cultivated only in Jeju Island and bursting with Vitamin C and super sweet and tasty juiciness. Infused with other Jeju born organic ingredients such as kiwi, broccoli, and aloe vera, this all-in-one serum works to replenish, soften, and protect the skin.

I received this in my Memebox Luckybox #11 but you can purchase this at TesterKorea for 19,300 won=$17.80. I love that this is organic and contains ingredients like kiwi, broccoli, and aloe vera. These ingredients decrease facial lines and wrinkles, can reverse sun damage on the skin, soothe and treat inflammation, and help keep the skin glowing and healthy.

I want to try the whole Jeju Hallabong skincare line now. First of all, I LOVE the scent. I use this morning and night and always smell the serum before I use it. If you don't like the smell of citrus or oranges, this is not for you! It's not overpowering like The Body Shop satsuma body butter but you can definitely smell the oranges in the serum. The serum leaves my skin dewy without being greasy. It's also very light yet gives the skin enough moisture and absorbs quickly. This is an excellent serum for the warmer months or anyone with combination-oily skin.

Innisfree Moisture Up Fixer 120mL ($16)
A moisture up fixer with Jeju green tea seed oil and aqua complex for makeup that stays all day long while keeping the skin moisturized.

This is 14,000 won=$12.91 at TesterKorea or $16 at Innisfree. The green tea seed oil settles at the top of the bottle so you must shake this before use. I love how well the pump works to distribute the product evenly throughout the face in a very fine mist. Props to Innisfree for a well made yet functional packaging! This has a light, clean, and fresh scent which does a good job of setting makeup and working as a moisturizing spray.

XO Memebox I'm Lip Crayon #06 Bella ($7)
Memebox makeup products are frequently on sale so I pretty much stalk the site. Make sure to use the coupon codes below if you're going to make a purchase for an even better deal! I bought all six of the lip crayons in a set but I've been reaching for #06 Bella the most. Read my previous review about these lip crayons here.
The formula on these crayons are moisturizing and don't require any exfoliating or preparation before application. The darker shades, like Bella, are particularly low maintenance and the shade is beautiful. I won't be reaching for this shade as much over the summer so I'm making use of the lip crayon now.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 104
I've written about these lipsticks in a previous post here.
Shade 104 is a pretty pinky mauve and a wearable every day color. This month has been about a low maintenance routine for me and this shade works with any look. I also like the slight watermelon scent and taste of the lipstick, the creamy formula, and how affordable it is. I picked each lipstick up for half off so it was a total bargain.
