L.A. Girl Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Nudes Palette Review

Product Description for the Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection
Four gorgeous must have eyeshadow palettes filled with a dozen majorly pigmented shades ranging from super wearable looks like Nudes to bolder looks like Neons. The variety of colors and textures in the collection include shimmer and matte shades making these palettes versatile to go from an everyday look to a night out.

Price
I bought my Nudes palette on Amazon for $8.22 with a gift card (gotta love purchasing items with gift cards) but you can purchase it for a lower price at Drugstore.com for $6.99.

Ingredients
Mica, Mineral Oil, Magnesium Stearate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Talc, Polyisobutene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Petrolatum, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, BHT, May Contain (+/-): Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Blue 1, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, Chromium Oxide Greens, FD&C Yellow 5, Ultramarines, FD&C Red 40, Carmine, Manganese Violet

Scent
The palette barely has a scent but I detect the smell of baby powder coming from the shadows.

Packaging
I don't have too many expectations for packaging with a $7-8 palette but this is pretty for a drugstore palette. The palette is made out of cardboard on the outside with a magnetic closure. On the inside, the shadows are housed in a plastic container. There is a decent sized mirror on the inside flap with a dual ended brush that has a synthetic flat bristle on one side and a sponge tip applicator on the other.

Texture/Consistency
The shadows are buttery, super soft, pigmented, and easy to pick up. Some shades are more pigmented and blend easier than others. The winners of the palette are the two pink toned matte shades which are easy to blend. The darker shades in the palette, especially #11, are harder to work with since they apply a little patchy and are not as pigmented.

My Thoughts
The Nudes palette contains a good selection of colors with 12 rosy toned neutrals. There are 9 shimmer shades and 3 matte shades. Some of the shades are a little different when you apply them in comparison to what you see in the pan. I have oily eyelids so I always go in with a primer before applying shadows. The swatches below are taken without a primer. Without primer the wear time was about 4-5 hours and with primer it was quite long lasting, 8-9 hours. I experienced a tiny bit of creasing towards the end of the day but no issues with fall out.
1. Matte off white
2. Matte rose
3. Shimmer pale rose gold (Shades 3, 5, and 9 are very similar)
4. Matte nude rose

5. Shimmer pale rose gold
6. Shimmer rose gold
7. Shimmer gold
8. Shimmer taupe with a slight red undertone

9. Shimmer pale rose gold
10. Shimmer taupe with a slight yellow undertone
11. Shimmer deep purple (chalky, poor pigmentation with some fallout)
12. Shimmer deep purple with a slight warm undertone

Final Thoughts
I bought this palette way back in April on a whim without reading any reviews or doing some research. For a $6.99 palette I'm impressed by the quality of these shadows. Drugstore brands are really stepping up their game and improving products every season. There are similarities between a few of the shadows but I recommend this palette for everyone, especially if you're on a serious beauty budget or can't imagine paying $54 for an Urban Decay palette.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!
Jennifer
