Innisfree Long Wear Cushion SPF 50+/PA+++ Review

It's summer here in NYC and the last thing I want is to wear heavy makeup that will melt off during the hot and humid days. Enter the Innisfree Long Wear Cushion which is geared towards oily/combination skin. It's meant for those long hot summer days and claims to last for 12 hours. Keep in mind the Innisfree Water Glow Cushion is recommended for those with dry to normal skin.

Product Description
A long wear cushion that creates smooth, fresh, and bright skin that lasts long, without being smudged by sweat and sebum.
There are 4 available shades:
No. 13 Light Beige
No. 21 Natural Beige
No. 23 True Beige
No. 31 Deep Beige

How to use
Put an appropriate amount on the puff, apply lightly along the skin texture instead of the foundation and gently dab. Reapply and pat down, if needed.

Ingredients
Water, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, Methyl trimethicone, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Arbutin, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Sodium chloride, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate/Dimethicone Methacrylate Copolymer, Polyhydroxystearic acid, Aluminum hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Triethoxycaprylylsilane,Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lecithin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isostearic Acid, Glycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Acrylates/Stearyl Acrylate/Dimethicone Methacrylate Copolymer, Dimethicone, Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Silica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Mineral Salts, Rice Powder, Propanediol, Tangerine Peel Extract, Prickly Pear, Orchid, Camellia, Orange, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi Fruit Extract, Tangerine Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Black Iron Oxide, Fragrance

Price
I paid 16,000 won for the cushion, which does not come with a refill, a little over a month ago at Tester. The site has since raised the price to 17,000 won =$14.52 but the dollar is stronger in comparison to a month ago. The conversion rate is currently 1,152.80 won to 1 US dollar. Other places you can find the long wear cushion, no refills included, are at Amazon for $23.50 and on the Innisfree site for $23.
Packaging
The outer box packaghing is typical of any other Innisfree product. It's simple, practical packaging printed with soy ink which is better for the environment and recycling. If you're thinking of saving some money and purchasing a refill to put inside a Laneige or Etude House case, don't do it! Although Laneige, Etude House, and Innisfree are all under the umbrella of Amorepacific Corporation, the cushion cases are not interchangeable within the three brands. Another thing to note is the Innisfree refill cushions do not include an extra puff which is unusual.

Scent
There is a light, sweet, herbal scent to the cushion. I actually like the scent but it may irritate others who look for fragrance free products. The scent lingers for an hour or so.

Consistency
This has a natural matte finish and feels light on the face without being sticky. It has a cooling sensation when first applied and blends smoothly into the skin. If you have any dry patches, make sure to moisturize really well or exfoliate those patches. The cushion will emphasize any dry skin. This does minimize pores and will work nicely under blush and bronzer.
My Thoughts
There are typically only 2 shades to choose from but Innisfree surprised me by offering a total of 4 shades. I was a little nervous about selecting shade No. 21 since I'd read the shades run a little light with this particular cushion. 21 is my standard cushion shade and thankfully this is the case with the Innisfree Long Wear Cushion as well. The coverage is quite nice with a solid medium coverage. It has better coverage than the Iope Air Cushion XP. Most of the redness and some hyperpigmentation on my face is covered. If you need additional coverage, you can always use concealer.

As far as the 12 hour lasting claim, it's a little bit of a stretch for me. With primer underneath the cushion, a good powder and setting spray, the wear time is around 9-10 hours. If you have normal or combination skin, you most likely won't need to add powder over the product. However, I have been placing powder over the cushion to ensure the best wear time possible. I did wear the cushion on a day where the high was 95 degrees and went into a subway station where it was probably another 10-15 degrees warmer. Nothing like waiting for a train during rush hour in sweltering heat and crowds of people to test how sweat and smudge proof a makeup product is. The lasting power was quite good with moderate smudging and I could tell there was still product on my face at the end of the day.

Final Thoughts
I love this long wear cushion but I can see why it has some mixed reviews. You really should only use this if you have combination or oily skin! I'm not sure why women (or men) with dry skin are purchasing this particular cushion. If you do, you're going to need to slather your face with a moisturizing cream to take care of any dryness. This is a great every day natural looking product with a high SPF. It's very affordable, long lasting, and does a good job of controlling sebum.
