Son & Park Skin Fit Foundation SPF 45 PA++ Review

I have a weakness for stick foundations so I had to try out the Skin Fit Foundation from Son & Park when I saw it sold on Memebox in early August. (I reviewed two lip crayons from Son & Park not too long ago. Read here if you're interested.)

ABOUT THE BRAND
Son & Park is a brand created by two popular Korean celebrity makeup artists, Son Dae Sik and Park Dae Yun. They serve as exclusive makeup artists for many famous Korean actors and actresses. Son is the official makeup artist for Jun Ji Hyun. (Her breakout film was My Sassy Girl in 2001 which was a huge hit in Korea and throughout Asia. If you haven't watched it, you need to! After wearing YSL Rouge Pur Couture No 52 in My Love From The Star, the lipstick sold out worldwide.)
Back to Son & Park, the two have been friends since high school and known for bringing the natural dewy look to life.  Dewy, glowing skin has been a trend with Korean women for quite some time now. They developed the technique with their own hands and it became their signature at editorial shoots and fashion shows. Their logo is a hand with the cursive letters S and P.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Easily glides over your skin, just uncap the other side to blend everything in. The green center helps cover any redness on your skin and the foundation helps cover any blemishes and pores with it's sebum capture system without making your skin look cakey or unnatural.  The ultra fine bristles and compact brush head makes the blending easy anywhere and at anytime.  Used on the runways in Korea, it's meant to last and create and maintain that flawless complexion under those bright lights and to the naked eye.  Whether it's applied at home or on-the-go, your skin will be ever so smooth, radiant, and withhold that second-skin texture.

HOW TO USE
Glide the stick onto the forehead, bridge of the nose, and the chin. Then swipe across the top of the cheekbones, and diagonally following the jawline. For more coverage add a few additional swipes to the areas as needed. Blend thoroughly with the brush on the other end in small fluid circular motions, starting from the center of the face and working your way to the outer edges of your face.

PRICE
The Skin Fit Foundation was sold on Memebox for $22 but, unfortunately, it's now sold out on the site. They may restock it at some point in the future so keep an eye out for it on the site. I purchased mine for $16 since I had some points. Currently you can find the foundation stick at Korea Depart for $24.63, Amazon for $53.90 + $5 shipping (ridiculously overpriced), or Ebay for $25.99.

PACKAGING
The outer packaging is a simple, sleek black box with the trademark logo in front. The foundation stick is packaged in a mint green plastic tube with the foundation on one end and the compact brush on the other end. The brush is a convenient feature for quick touch ups on the go and allowing the product to really sink into any pores or lines on the face. The densely packed brush hairs are quite soft. I wouldn't use the small brush to apply the foundation to the whole face because it would take forever!

SCENT
Not going to lie, the scent of this completely caught me off guard in the beginning. I was expecting the typical fresh floral scent most Korean beauty products have or no scent at all like the XO Black Stick Foundation from Dayeong X Memebox. Instead the stick foundation has a rather strong baby powder scent. I don't mind it anymore after having used it for over a month but it took some getting used to.

TEXTURE/CONSISTENCY
This has a very creamy texture but changes into a powdery texture when you blend it out with your fingers. The finish isn't quite matte but leaves behind a moisturized look with a subtle sheen.

MY THOUGHTS
I forgot to mention the shade selection for the Son & Park Skin Fit Foundation. Unfortunately there are only 2 shades to select from: #21 Light and #23 Natural. Fortunately for me I always fall into the #21 shade category. It's not always a perfect match but I can make it work. On my arm the swatch looks a little too dark and orange-y but the shade works on my face which is slightly darker.

The foundation stick has a green core that will brighten your skin and cover up redness. The formula contains a "sebum capture system" that will lock in moisture but control oiliness. The weather has changed quite a bit since I first tested out the foundation. My skin has gone from extremely oily to slightly oily in the past month. I was a little concerned the product would accentuate any oiliness on the face but it does a fairly good job of controlling oil. I did have to blot every 2-3 hours when the weather was warmer and more humid. For the past week or so I've been able to get by every 4 hours or so without blotting the T-zone area.

Underneath a primer, the wear time is a solid 8 hours or so. I'm sure if you have normal to combination skin you could get 10-12 hours of wear time. I love how easy and quick it is to use the foundation stick. I swipe the stick all over the face, blend it out, and move on with the rest of my routine. I prefer blending the product with my fingers rather than a brush. The foundation provides a light and natural coverage which you can build up to a medium coverage if necessary.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I wasn't particularly excited about the Son & Park Lip Crayons but I do really like their Skin Fit Foundation. It's compact, easy to use, contains SPF, looks natural on the face while providing some coverage, and feels lightweight on the skin. The only negative thing I have to say about the foundation is the scent and maybe the difficulty in locating and purchasing the product if you don't live in Korea. I don't think this will work for those with dry skin as it may accentuate dry patches but it will suit those with normal to oily skin types. I still prefer the stick foundation from Dayeong just a little bit more but the Son & Park Skin Fit Foundation comes a very close second to it.
