Let's take a look at the new and improved formula in the Memebox I'm Lipstick line.

HOW TO USE
For a gradient effect: Apply to the inner corners and blend outwards.
Full-coverage: Line your cupid's bow in a criss-cross pattern, as well as the outer corners and the bottom of the lips. Connect the dots and fill in.

Each lipstick is $16 but there is a Halloween promotion going on right now, buy 2 or more and get 50% off which means buy 1, get 1 free. In smaller print the site states the promotion is valid until 10/20 but that is not the case. I placed two lipsticks into my cart at the time of this post and automatically received the $16 off with no code. It is a Halloween promo after all so I'm assuming it will continue until 10/31.

PACKAGING

The lipsticks are housed in black, sleek packaging that's sturdy but not heavy. It's a definite improvement from the old packaging. Fingerprints will appear once you handle the lipstick because of the black color.  I'm Lipstick is printed on the outside of each lipstick.

When you twist up the product, there is an M (for Memebox) engraved on the lipstick bullet.

The shade name is clearly written on the bottom of each lipstick.

SCENT
They have the typical scent of many Korean cosmetics, a fresh/floral scent, and smell just like the Memebox Pony Blossom Lipsticks.

TEXTURE/CONSISTENCY

The old packaging looked like this except I'm Lipstick was printed on it.

I previously owned one I'm Lipstick in the old formula and gave it away for two reasons. The shade I purchased didn't flatter me and I couldn't stand the formula. It applied patchy and was really drying on my lips. This updated formula is creamy, moisturizing, lightweight, glides on smoothly, and applies without any streaks. There is a little shine when you first apply the product but it dries down to a matte finish.

MY THOUGHTS

I purchased what I thought would be good shades for fall, MT008 Aflame Plum (deep berry) and MT009 Jack Rose (bright plum/purple). Both shades are very pigmented and one swipe is enough color to satisfy me. Thanks to my nightly application of the Nuxe Reve de Miel my lips have been in good shape and not that dry so I didn't need to exfoliate or put a lip balm underneath the lipstick. However, if you are suffering from dry flaky lips you might want to take these extra steps beforehand. The lipsticks do start to fade a bit after a few hours and after you eat/drink. But, there is a beautiful stain that's left behind which gives the lipsticks great longevity. I would say the wear time with the stain is a good 6-7 hours and you'll need a cleansing oil or lipstick remover to wipe off the stain.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I wasn't planning to purchase the Memebox I'm Lipsticks but I'm really happy with the quality and formula of them. They're extremely comfortable on the lips and feel hydrating. The shade range is impressive so you're bound to find a shade that will flatter your skin tone. My one reservation is the...price! At $16 a lipstick, it's a similar price point to the Clinique Pop Lip Colors and the Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipsticks. The Memebox brand products have always been nicely priced and a great value for what you get. I'd be happier if they were between $10-$12 but there are sales and promotions that happen on a regular basis.
