Memebox Back to School Box

I had been tempted to buy the Back to School Box as soon as it was released but I was waiting for a sale or promotion to come around. Lo and behold my wish was granted and a Labor Day weekend promotion appeared! I went a little crazy so you'll be reading about some of the Memebox purchases I made for the next few blog posts.

BOX DESCRIPTION
We know many of you are heading back to school, and of course you'll wanna look your absolute best. First impressions are important so show up to school with your best face forward and impress your peers and professors. You'll be one step closer to that A.
*Disclaimer: We cannot guarantee you'll get an A, but at least you'll look good trying!

Revecen Fine Finish Eyeliner Pencil in Black ($11)
This auto-pencil liner allows you to precisely apply your eyeliner with minimal mistakes. Glides on easily and is smudge proof because you’ve got 99 problems and your eyeliner smudging should not be one of them.

How to use: Line the waterline, and in between the lashes for a full and bold eye look. Then create a smooth line just above your lashline, and use a q-tip to smooth out any harsh edges and to create a clean and crisp edge and line.

I've worn the eyeliner once and it didn't smudge or fade on me. The pencil tip is extremely thin and pointed which does help to draw a precise line. I'll have to test it out a bit more to see how well the liner holds up on my eyes.

Too Cool For School Art Class Pencil Eraser ($10)
This pencil eraser can make correcting that makeup blunder so much easier by allowing you to quickly and easily retouch your makeup. It’s powerful enough to remove waterproof eyeliner and mascara, and it’s formulated with plant ingredients to make it gentle and non-irritating.

How to use: Gently rub the pencil tip over your eye makeup to remove it. After using, clean the tip with tissue. Use this to also clean up the edges of your eyeline, so a sleek and smooth flick.
There's an additional sponge in the packaging so make sure to look for it. It's tucked away at the top of the box and it says refill tips included. I didn't look closely enough and almost threw the box away. In theory this is a nice product to carry with you on the go and fix any makeup mistakes. I used the wax pencil to erase the Revecen Eyeliner Pencil and the sponge to dab away any leftover marks. I donn't think it did that great of a job removing the "hi" but it is meant for tiny mascara or liner mistakes. I'm a little skeptical about the ability to remove waterproof eye makeup but I'll have to use the eraser more.

Too Cool For School Cheek Cake Blusher in #1 Pink ($21)
This kit has everything you need to step up your makeup look. This cake blusher contains powder eyeshadow, blush, highlighter and bronzer. Perfectly convenient and compact so your makeup bag can have more room!

How to use: 1) As a highlighter, apply to areas on the face you wish to highlight 2) As a cheek blusher apply to the apples of your cheeks 3) As an eyeshadow, using a brush apply color to the lids 4) Use the bronzer on areas you would like to contour or apply bronzing effects to.

Ingredients: Water,Cyclopentasiloxane,Glycerin,Mica,Peg-10 Dimethicone,Titanium Dioxide,Talc,Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer,Cyclomethicone,Isoeicosane,Hexyl Laurate,Silica,Dimethicone,Disteardimonium Hectorite,Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer,Tocopheryl Acetate,Phytosqualane,Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice,,Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract,Secale Cereale (Rye) Seed Extract,Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract,Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract,Morus Alba Root Extract,Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract,Magnesium Sulfate,C12-14 Pareth-3,Portulaca Oleracea Extract,Betaine,Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate/Dimethicone Methacrylate Copolymer,Tribehenin,Palmitic Acid,Ethylhexylglycerin,Polyurethane-11,Aminopropyl Dimethicone,Polymethylsilsesquioxane,Methicone,Diamond Powder,Amethyst Powder,Aluminum Silicate,Fragrance,Phenoxyethanol,Iron Oxides(Ci77491)
This blusher is soft and buttery and blends easily. The color is very natural and leaves a nice glow and shimmer to the cheeks. There is a small brush inside but I won't be using it. I like how you can use the product in various ways eliminating the use of multiple products and pick and choose which shades you want to use. The shades aren't all that pigmented so this will work best for those with lighter skin types.

Verysix 6 Seconds Kissing Lip Gloss ($17)
Create perfectly kissable lips with this tint/gloss. Applies clear but within six seconds the color adjusts to reveal a soft pink hue. Leaves lips with a hint of color and a whole lot of moisture.

How to use: Apply to lips as needed. Wait 6~10 seconds and watch the gloss turn into a tint!
I'm not really a fan of lip glosses, except for the NYX Butter Glosses, but I like the formula of the Verysix Lip Gloss. I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay $17 for it but it is a good gloss. It's not sticky and is quite moisturizing. Just like the product description describes, it leaves a hint of pink to the lips. After I swatched the gloss on my arm, I had to use an oil cleanser to take it off since it left a stain behind. It has a unique scent which is pleasant, a light floral one which reminds me of a tea I've drank before.

Macqueen New York Mineral CC in No. 21 ($23)
This CC cushion is formulated with botanical ingredients to deliver skincare+makeup in one. This color correcting cream leaves skin looking fresh and moisturized. Applies to a natural finish so it looks like you’re only wearing your skin, making it perfect for that no makeup-makeup look.

How to use: After your basic skincare routine, take an appropriate amount by gently pressing the air puff against the cushion. Spread and blend evenly all over the face by doing gentle patting motions. Add another layer until desired coverage is achieved.

Ingredients: Onsen-Sui, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Cyclohexasiloxane, Mineral Water, CI 77492, Fragrance, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Centella Asiatica Extract, CI 77499, Adenosine, BHT, Bambusa Vulgaris Sap Extract, Sodium Chloride, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Phenoxyethanol, CI 77491, Methicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Diisostearyl Malate, Zinc Oxide, Cyclomethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Arbutin, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, PEG-10 Dimethicone

I'm obsessed with cushions and I received my shade, yay! The shades were randomly chosen between 21 and 23 so I was hoping to get lucky with the correct shade. I think I own 10 cushions at the moment so, as much as I want to crack into this one, I'm going to wait a bit to open it. This is good until early 2018 so I don't have to worry about the product expiring.

B&Soap Feeling & Peeling 2 pcs ($43)
This 2-step peeling kit reveals renewed skin in a matter of minutes. The kit features a gentle peeling scrub and a deeply penetrating bubble foam to remove impurities. Formulated with sucrose, lactic and citric acid, and vitamins to nourish and brighten up your complexion.

How to use: Moisten skin. Then use the spatula and apply step 1. Gently scrub for ~1 minute. Follow up with step 2 (without removing step 1) and gently scrub in for ~2 more minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and follow with a toner.

Such a big box for two products that are on the smaller side. I love a good peel but this seems time consuming with the 2 step process. I'm planning on writing a review of this in the next month or so and I'll talk about this in detail at that time.

Samples
I've been receiving 3-4 samples in each of my orders so I'm wondering if this will be the norm from now on.
It's Skin Prestige Creme D'escargot B.B
Shara Shara Water Girl's Ice Lotion
Tony Moly Banana Hand Milk (I have enough packets of the hand milk to squeeze into a decent sized jar at this point between Memebox and Tester Korea orders.)

FINAL THOUGHTS
The cost of this box is on the pricier side at $45. It contains 6 products versus the usual 5 so that might explain the higher price point. I was able to receive 20% off the box so I paid $36. Then with the Memecat promotion I was able to receive points back. Each point is equivalent to a dollar. If you spent $20, you received 5 points in your account. $40=10 points. $60=15 points, you get the drift. It's a good marketing strategy because it had me placing things in my cart right away. As for the actual box, there's a good mix of products. The cushion and blusher were the main reason I wanted the box and I'm glad I decided to purchase it!
