Memebox I'm Lip Liquid Deluxe Set

When Memebox put out an Instagram spoiler for the I'm Lip Liquids, I was immediately curious about them. The Deluxe Set comes with 6 shades and I purchased an extra one individually. There are 15 shades in the line with a good range of colors.

Product Description
Memebox’s I’m Lip Liquid gives a highly pigmented color payoff which absolutely defines your lips vividly. This has a special formulation which allows the lip liquid to glide smoothly without leaving streaks and dry patches. It has water-wrapping technology which gives the color a beautiful gloss without leaving a sticky feeling. With Argan Oil, Manuka Honey Extract and Rosehip Oil as its key ingredients, this lip liquid keeps the lips soft and moist while also maintaining the lips’ natural, healthy color. Guaranteed to last long, I’m Lip Liquid sure deserves a space in your makeup bag!
The 6 shades in the set are:
CR601 Anna: a light, peachy nude
PK602 Ariel: a coral pink
PK603 Belle: a fresh pop of bright pink
OR600 Melinda: a bright pop of orange
RD601 Adriana: a true shade of red for a natural, lively pop of color
RD602 Ursula: a mauve shade
PK600 Tiana: a rosy pink (does not come in the deluxe set)

How to use
For Gradient Lips: Using the lip applicator, dot the color onto the center of the lips then lightly blend the color outwards with your fingertip for an ombre effect.
For Full Lip Point Makeup: Using the applicator, swipe the color fully onto the lips. Add another layer until desired vividness is achieved.

Price
The set was $25 at the time I bought the set but the current price has changed to $35. There is a discrepancy on the site because the page description states $25 for a value of $96. I contacted Memebox and the set is $35. If you purchase the lip liquids individually, each one is is currently $8 but originally priced at $16.

Packaging
The outer packaging is simple with the shades clearly shown and labeled at the top of the box. The Lip Liquids are housed in a sturdy, clear, plastic tube with a flat doe foot applicator. I really like and appreciate that I can clearly see which shade I'm reaching for because of the clear tube. The tubes are a little bulky but I don't plan on carrying these around in my purse.

Scent
There is a fresh, fruity and familiar scent to these products. I dug around in my lip collection because it was such a familiar scent to me. They smell very similar to the Etude House Sugar Tint Balms and L'oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks. You can read about the Etude House balms here. Anyway, I like the scent and it disappears after a few minutes.

Texture/Consistency
The formula to the lip liquids itself are quite creamy but feel drying on my lips after an hour or so. I've been using a lip balm before application and then it feels comfortable on the lips. If your lips are in bad shape I would suggest exfoliating beforehand and taking care of any dry patches. The formula will cling to any dry patches. Since these look like a lip gloss in the tube I was expecting some kind of stickiness but they are not sticky at all.

My Thoughts
I'm most impressed with the pigmentation on these; they are crazy pigmented! I prefer to apply these with the gradient lip approach for an every day look because they are so pigmented. Just applying two tiny dots of product on the upper and lower lip are more than enough and then I spread it out with my finger.
The full lip makeup would be great for a night out or an event. For me it took a little practice to apply the lip liquid evenly over the lips in one coat without creating a mess. The flatness of the doe foot applicator makes it hard to work around the edges of the lips. The product is buildable if you're going for a bolder look. The initial finish has the effect of a lip gloss but the shine does wear down. The end result is an opaque finish. You really need to allow 10-15 minutes to let the product set or it will transfer all over the place and become very messy. Avoid eating, drinking, and kissing during that time. The wear time is around 6 hours or so leaving a nice tint of color behind. I didn't experience feathering with the product but I did find myself applying lip balm more than usual throughout the day.

FINAL THOUGHTS
The quality of Memebox brand products are consistently good and the I'm Lip Liquids fall into this category. I'm happy I purchased these but you don't need to buy all 15 shades. In hindsight, purchasing 3 or 4 of these might have been a better idea but it gave me a chance to try out the formula and a variety of shades. In general, most of the shades I own apply smoothly. OR600 Melinda (not to be picky but it's spelled wrong on the bottom of the tube and the description in the deluxe set) and CR601 Anna apply patchy and streaky on my lips. They are also the least flattering shades for my complexion so I won't be reaching for them. My favorite shades are the pinks, PK600, 602, and 603. The lip liquids are more of a higher maintenance product for me but they're great for anyone who wants to rock a bold lip or make a statement. The total cost of the deluxe set plus the extra lip liquid I purchased was $33. THEN I used a discount code and some points so I got a really great deal on these. As always, thanks for stopping by!
