3W Clinic Collagen Make-up Base Review

I've been trying to finish up the bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer in brightening for the longest time. I wasn't all that crazy about the primer to begin with but I hated the thought of throwing away a barely used product. This was the case until I realized the Prime Time Primer is not compatible with my currently oily/combination skin type. I decided to dig through my stash and discovered the 3W Clinic Collagen Make-up Base I'd received in a past Memebox. I'm kicking myself for throwing away the box before I took some pictures of it but I needed to make efficient use of limited storage space.

Product Description
This silicone type collagen makeup base contains blemish control powder components for matting out and preparing the skin condition before foundation application. The high level of adherence and long-lasting formula help maintain your makeup to stay silky smooth all day long. Suitable for application to all types of skin but best for combination skin and can be used by all age groups.
How to Use
After basic cleaning, pump once at the first step of makeup and gently apply around the face.
Price
The retail price of the base according to the Memebox info card is $30. You can purchase this at Amazon for $16 and free shipping.

Ingredients
Water, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Talc, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butylene Glocol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetyl Ethythexanote, Glycerin, Macadamia Ternolia Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parki (Shea Butter), Cyclopentasloxane, Stearic Acid, Beeswax, Polysorbate 60, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Chromium Oxide Greens, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, Disodium EDTA, Trethanolamine Xantham Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, PEG-60, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Squalene, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Sophora Angusfolia Root Extract, Scutelaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Prunus Persca (Peach) Leaf Extract, Rhus Semialata Gail Extract, Camelia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Allantoin, Fragrance

Packaging
The makeup base comes in an expensive looking frosted glass bottle that is sturdy. Unfortunately it's bulky so it's not ideal for travelling. You dispense the product through a pump which doesn't have the best control. It squirts out uncontrollably and too much product inevitably ends up on your hand. I had the same experience with the bareMinerals primer pump.

Scent
This smells like a perfume I can't quite place. That's not the most helpful description but there is a definite fragrance to the makeup base. Those of you who are sensitive to fragrance might want to be aware of this before trying it. Personally I don't mind the scent since it has a fresh floral scent. You don't notice it after a few minutes have gone by. I feel like many Korean makeup products have this particular smell. It's slightly similar to the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB but a little more perfumey if that makes any sense.

Consistency
I love the consistency of this. It's quite luxurious, smooth, and sinks into the skin. The makeup base almost seems and feels like a skincare item rather than a primer. It doesn't have the silcone feel that most primers have like the Smashbox Photo Finish or Benefit's The Porefessional.
My Thoughts
This is a fantastic makeup base! I didn't think I was going to like this and thought it might be a little too thick for my skin. Instead, it does exactly what it claims. It mattifies my face and helps foundation glide on to the skin. Even on days where my skin is more sensitive and plagued with acne spots, the base does a great job of allowing face makeup to sink in seamlessly and stay put for the day. If you need minimal covering you could probably just get away with wearing the base and calling it a day. The green color helps cancel out any redness or minor discoloration. My only complaint about the product lies in the mechanism of the pump but who cares if the product works. I just twist open the pump and apply it to my hand so I won't waste anything. A little product goes a long way so this is a very affordable makeup base. If you've been struggling with oily/combination skin I highly recommend this. Drier skinned ladies will probably appreciate this as well since it's hydrating at the same time. 3W Clinic has a Collagen Foundation as well so I'm pretty curious about it now that I've tried the makeup base.
