It's the end of January and 49 more days until the first day of spring. Can you tell I'm looking forward to warmer weather?? There are certain products I've been reaching for more often this month and I thought I'd show all of you what they are. Since I just wrote about my top 5 every day products, I won't be including those in here today.
L'oreal Oleo Therapy Deep Recovery Mask 8.5 oz
Product description
A restorative treatment infused with 6 precious flower oil. Hair expertise oleo therapy softening oil mask is a unique balm that melts into a nourishing oil to instantly revive lifeless locks and restore hair's natural radiance. Hair looks silky-smooth and feels incredibly soft. For dull, dry and damaged hair. Sulfate-free.
I don't really suffer from dry, damaged hair since my hair texture is fine, thin, and prone to greasiness. However, I tend to go for long stretches without getting my hair cut and in the winter months the ends start to get a little raggedy. About once a week I'll put this in my hair before I go to the gym and let it soak in while I work out. I'll wash it out when I shower and then shampoo my hair. This mask smells amazing and the scent lingers in my hair well after it's been washed. It also make my hair silky, soft, and gets rid of frizzy strands without making my hair greasy.
You can find this at Ulta for $8.99.
It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Plus Keratin 4 oz
Product description
An excellent nourishing treatment that can be used alone and/or as a restorative styling product to maintain keratin straightening treatments. It works on all hair types to bring out natural luster and manageability while also making hair stronger and healthier by replacing lost protein with every use. It can be used on wet hair for extra shine or dry hair in place of a styling cream. Protects the natural keratin in hair, protects against heat, restores hydration balance, detangles, defrizzes, and adds shine. Strengthens hair structure and seals cuticles for extra silky hair.
I use this mainly to detangle my hair and control any frizz. Instead of spraying the product directly to my hair, I'll rub the product into my palms and then apply to the ends. I'll also use this as a heat protectant before I curl my hair. I'm on my second bottle and I plan on repurchasing it when I run out.
You can find this at Amazon for $14.87.
D'ran Aqua Wonder Intensive Renewing Serum 1.52 oz ($43)
Product description
The glacier water complex used in this serum delivers intensive moisture and nutrition by absorbing quickly and deeply into the skin. When used after emulsion application, it'll leave your skin shining with a natural, supple glow.
I received the Aqua serum in Memebox Superbox #48 Daily Dose of Beauty. The Korean company D'ran's philosophy is to give customers the opportunity to experience the latest biotechnology and high-end products. With active ingredients and abundant natural extracts, D'ran takes care of various skin problems effectively, and suggest the total solution for the beauty and health of skin.
I've been using this serum diligently all month and have been enjoying it. It has a clean, fresh scent and is something I could use all year round. This does contain paraben and dimethicone, so be weary of this if you're sensitive those ingredients. The serum has a light texture and quickly absorbs into the skin. I just wish there were a little more product since I'm 3/4 of the way through it.
Grinif Rawganic Jojoba Golden Oil 1.7 oz ($36)
Product description
'Rawganic' refers to non-processed, purely natural ingredients. This oil contains over 98% of pure, organic jojoba oil and works to deliver intense hydration and nutrition to extremely dry skin types by renewing the moisture/oil balance. It's a multi oil with a lightly absorbing texture and subtle lavender oil fragrance.
I also received this is in Memebox Superbox #48. Along with this jojoba oil, Grinif has two more oils in this line which are the energy rosehip oil and the citrus argania oil. I have been using this along with the D'ran Aqua Serum and my hormonal acne has been under control this month. There is no paraben, sulfate, or phthalates in the oil. (I just read an article this morning about phthalates disrupting hormones and being linked to early menopause, not good)! Apparently jojoba oil is an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory agent and reduces painful swelling and redness which makes this an effective treatment for acne. I'm just happy if something doesn't break me out but this does seem to be helping on the blemish front. This has a nice herbal smell but I don't catch the lavender scent. I apply 2-3 drops and spread over my face, neck, and even my hands. There's no greasiness and absorbs well into the skin. I sometimes mix this in my foundation if my skin looks dry or patchy and also apply to the ends of my hair.
Nars Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base 0.26 oz
Product description
A lightweight primer that creates a seamless canvas that keeps cream and powder eye color looking brilliant, fresh, and just applied all day. Fortified with a special deep-sea extract and an antioxidant rice extract, it dries on contact and keeps the delicate eye lid smooth and ready for eye shadow application.
This is the first eye primer I've ever used and it was recommended to me by a Sephora SA. I thought it was expensive for such a small product but decided to splurge. I've got the oiliest eyelids and any sort of eye makeup (mascara, eye liner, and shadow) just ends up on my lower lid after a few hours. It's really not a good look! This primer actually holds my liner in place and keeps eye shadow from creasing. While I'm enjoying this primer and reaching for it quite a bit this month, I won't repurchase again. I would like to try some cheaper alternatives that are out there like NYX cosmetics.
You can purchase this at Sephora for $25.
Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-hour Lipstick 0.07 oz
Product description
Tarte introduces its first long-wear, clay-infused lipstick 12 hour power formula made of a unique blend of emollient rich butters (mango, avocado, and shea). This high cushion lipstick keeps lips moisturized all day long, minimizes the appearance of fine lines, and stops feathering in its tracks to give lips a perfect, plumped up appearance, and long wearing color that applies smoothly and won't fade away.
Recently I have been feeling adventurous and testing out darker lipsticks; I've always worn nude or pink-y colors. I chose fierce, a bright red, and wild, cool red. The pigmentation is fantastic with a very creamy formula. There is no scent to the lipsticks. I did not wear a lip liner with these to test out the feathering claim and I'm happy to say you don't need a liner. As far as the wear time, I got about 4-5 hours with this despite eating a meal and drinking water. I consider that to be long wearing but the 12 hour claim is a stretch to put it lightly. Even after the lipsticks wore off, it left behind a pretty color with no patchiness or unevenness. There are 10 available shades to choose from and the lipsticks contain no paraben, sulfate, or phthalates.
You can purchase these at Tarte for $16.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
Jennifer
