July 2015 Favorites

July was not a particularly exciting month in terms of new favorites but I have some products below that I favored on a daily basis.

Innisfree Long Wear Cushion SPF 50+/PA+++ Review

It's summer here in NYC and the last thing I want is to wear heavy makeup that will melt off during the hot and humid days. Enter the Innisfree Long Wear Cushion which is geared towards oily/combination skin. It's meant for those long hot summer days and claims to last for 12 hours. Keep in mind the Innisfree Water Glow Cushion is recommended for those with dry to normal skin.

July Mishibox

The outside of my Mishibox arrived slightly scratched up.

The June box was the very first box Mishibox released. One thing that has impressed me about the new company is their willingness to listen to the customers' feedback. Many people, myself included, weren't too happy about the high pH level in the Benton cleanser and the wish to receive products from lesser known brands. The company immediately sent out a survey for customers concerning pH level preferences for future boxes.

Memebox Haul #1

Last week Memebox had an amazing $5 deals and steals sale. I'm assuming these items were either being discontinued or Memebox needed to clear out some inventory. Whatever the reason, the sale was too good of an opportunity to pass up. (That's what I say to myself every time there's a sale.)

There was some major frustration involved in the ordering process and it was a rather nerve wracking experience. Perhaps I'm being a little melodramatic but I am a musician by trade. By the time I was ready to check out of my cart, half of the products in it were sold out. This happened to me multiple times and I lost things like the Holika Holika Naked Foundation Powder, some Peripera lip products, and a Peripera BB Cushion. Memebox was adding products to the sale page each day at random times. Basically you either got lucky or had to stalk the site and be ready to check out in a hot minute. I had no time to research what I was buying but, hey, you can't even purchase most drugstore products for $5 these days.

Summer 2015 Skincare Routine

I haven't done an updated skincare routine since winter so it's time to talk about my summer skincare products. For reference, I have oily, acne prone, and sometimes sensitive skin in the spring and summer seasons. I'm normally careful about ingredients like ethanol/alcohol but I've been incorporating it back into my skincare routine. I don't use nearly as many products in the summer as I do in the fall and winter.

I first spotted The Face Shop Blushers at Memebox and was immediately attracted to the cute packaging. I waited a little too long in purchasing them and they're now sold out on the website. Thankfully there's always Amazon to save the day with fast Prime shipping and an impressive stock of Korean beauty products.
