Memebox Shara Shara Box

The Shara Shara Box from Memebox was released for a second time a few weeks ago. It sold out rather quickly the first time it was released. At the time it was released I had declared myself on a "no buy" but quickly regretted the decision. There was quite a bit of chatter about how good this box was, particularly with the Honey and Berry Bombs. There is one difference between the first release of the box and this time around. The Berry Berry Waterful Cleansing Sherbet has been replaced with the White Stem Sleeping Mask.

BOX DESCRIPTION
Take your skin from zero tohero with the help of this box packed with hydrating, delectable sweets to get that moisture surge. Shara Shara is known for excellent skincare lines and products that promote skin vitality and radiance. Not to mention, the super cute packing is hard to resist!

Kissing Lip Sugar Scrub ($8)

Product Description: This is a natural scrub made with sugar grain and walnut peel powder to gently scrub away dead skin cells to create soft lips. Contains honey extract and shea butter that offer enriched nourishment to lips and vitamin E for full moisture.
How to Use: Apply a small amount of scrub onto dry lips and around the mouth area, massage in small circular motions. Wash off with foam cleanser and water.

My lips are always in need of a good lip scrub, especially in the winter. I'm pretty loyal to the Elf Lip Exfoliator but I'm always willing to try something new. The lip scrub is packaged in a little tin container so use a spatula (not provided) if you're worried about keeping things hygienic. This is a gritty product due to the good amount of walnut shell and sugar granules in the lip scrub. It did a good job of de-flaking my lips while leaving them hydrated. I'm not very keen on the floral taste but it's a good scrub if you can get past the taste.

Black Source Eye Sunglass ($3)

Product Description: Restore tired eyes with this eye mask that takes dull eyes to bright and energetic! The sunglass shape covers the most important part of the eyes for optimal nourishment.
How to Use: Spread mask onto face, fold flaps over closed eyes, and leave for 10-20 minutes. After removing the mask, pat in remaining product around the eye are a using your ring finger.

This is like a Zorro mask. I was a little nervous that I would have to lie down for 10-20 minutes doing nothing because there might not be flaps for the eyes. Thank goodness you can lift them up so I can catch up on a K-drama! Anyone out there watching She Was Pretty or 그녀는 예뻤다? OMG, completely addicted to the show right now. I'll use this either tonight or tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think. Hopefully it's comfortable to wear.

HONEY/BERRY BOMB ALL IN ONE AMPOULE - randomly selected ($30)

Product Description: This unique ampoule is a 3-in-1 treatment that that can be used in place of a toner, serum, and moisturizer. How to Use: On a cleansed face using the included spatula, apply a small scoop of the ampoule onto face in place of a toner, serum and moisturizer. I received the Berry Bomb but was sort of hoping for the Honey one. The jar looks just like Smucker's Strawberry Jam and it's got so much product! It's going to last forever. I really want to dig into this ampoule (spatula included) since it's surrounded by so much hype. Unfortunately, I have five moisturizers open at the moment and want to finish at least one before I open a new product. I'll definitely write some sort of update about the Berry Bomb once I've tried and formed an opinion about it. You can find this at the Memeshop for $30.

WATER GIRLS ICE CREAM ($18)

Product Description: A refreshing & soothing facial moisturizer in a gel-cream texture that penetrates rapidly into skin. I used a sample of the Shara Shara Water Girls Toner while I was in Paris and was curious about the rest of the line. The toner was cooling and left my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I like moisturizers with a gel texture for most of the year, except winter time, so the Water Girls Ice Cream should work with my skin type. Again, I haven't tried this and I'll most likely wait until the spring to incorporate it into my skincare routine. This is sold at the Memeshop for $14. 

WHITE STEM SLEEPING MASK - Brightening ($16)

Product Description: Brighten and bring energy back into your skin as you get in those Zzz’s. Formulated with lemon balm extract, peppermint extract, rice stem cell extract, and green tea stem cell extract for skin tone correcting purposes to unveil a more fresh, radiant and translucent complexion.
How to Use: As the last step in your nighttime skincare routine. Take an appropriate amount and apply to the face and neck in an up and outward motion.  Gently pat in the product for best absorption.  Rinse off the following morning.

I really wish Memebox had kept the Berry Cleansing Sherbet in the box because I really don't need any moisturizing products. There's typically one cleansing product in each box and this is the one time I actually would like a cleanser. Winter is the only time I can and do use a sleeping mask. They're usually too heavy for my oily skin type and I wake up with a pile of grease on my face. The White Stem Sleeping Mask seems to concentrate more on brightening the face rather than moisturizing so maybe it might work in the fall and spring for me.
All four products above included an ingredients list in English written clearly on the packaging so I thought it was strange when I couldn't find the list for the sleeping mask. I proceeded to look for it on the Shara Shara Korean site since I can read Korean. 10 painful minutes into translating the list I realized, after staring at the sleeping mask, it could be under the label where it says open here.

Definitely a bang your head against the wall moment; always check the packaging thoroughly for information. This is sold for $12 at the Memeshop. 

FINAL THOUGHTS
This box is a really good value if you're interested in most of the Shara Shara products included. The Honey/Berry Bomb alone accounts for more than half the price of the box. It's currently sold out on the site AGAIN but, given the popularity of the box, it will most likely be restocked in the future. It sold for $33 with a retail value of $75.
