Skin Factory Solution A Plus Ampoule Mask Review

This is my first venture into the brand, Skin Factory, so here's a little background information about them. They are a Korean brand founded by a group of medical scientists from Seoul National University. They started as a cosmetics brand to offer pure and natural skincare products which emphasize the well being and balance of the skin for men and women of all skin types. Skin Factory has a "five free" line of products which are alcohol free, fragrance free, preservatives free, pigment free, and mineral oil free. The company is owned by Beauty Finest who also owns Skin Watchers, Yadah Korea, Hermippe, and Chamos Acaci.

Product Description
Solution A Plus Ampoule Mask is the best mask for people who suffer from hypersensitive skin. The mask sheet essence contains natural herbal oils and extracts that effectively fight pimple-causing bacteria while making the healing phase of the skin faster. It soothes aggravated skin by supplying proper moisture to the skin and helps prevent future damage to promote clearer, smoother skin.
There are several other Skin Factory Ampoule masks to choose from:
Daily UV Care Ampoule Mask
Aqua Skinin Ampoule Mask
Vega Vita Plex Ampoule Mask
12.P.L White Mela-X Ampoule Mask
Vega Collagen Ampoule Mask
E.G.F Moisturetonx Ampoule Mask
Volcanic Ash Black 3D Ampoule Mask
Real Shiny Pearl Ampoule Mask
Honey Moisturizing Ampoule Mask

How to Use
After washing and toning, carefully remove the sheet from the packaging and place the mask onto the face. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Remove the mask after the allotted time and massage the remaining essence on your face and neck.

Where to Buy/Price
I purchased 3 Solution A Plus Ampoule Masks from Memebox and each one was $2.11. Kind of a weird amount but I must have used a discount code at the time. It's currently sold out on the site and the only place I can find the mask is Korea Depart for $1.36.

Scent
It has the typical fresh, floral scent I smell in many Korean skincare and cosmetics products. It's not overpowering but you can definitely smell it on your face.
Fit
This mask fit well, even in the places I usually complain about. The mouth cut out was wide enough and covered the lower sides of my face quite well. There is a little gap at the sides of the nose but it didn't bother me. There are flaps for the eyes so you can choose to cover your eyes for an extra relaxing experience!

My Thoughts
I had a hard time unfolding and opening up the mask and placing it on my face. The sheet is heavily saturated with essence. Skin Factory claims each sheet contains 30 ml of ampoule solution. The advantage of having a cellulose mask sheet is that it clings tightly to your face and transfers more moisture. The mask definitely clung to my face feeling like second skin and there was more than enough moisture on the mask and on my face. In fact, the lower portion of the mask was sagging down my face and it didn't get any better during the 20 minutes I wore the mask. Although the directions state to remove the mask after 30 minutes, the essence felt really thick and heavy on my skin the longer I had the mask on.
I usually let the essence absorb into my skin for 5-10 minutes after removing a mask to continue on with my skincare. The essence from this mask wouldn't absorb into my skin and remained wet and greasy looking on my face. I had to splash my face with water to get the remaining essence off my skin. It looked more like oily residue than glowing, hydrated skin. Everything was fine after I washed my face but, wow, the essence would not sink in. I didn't notice anything different about my face afterwards and woke up to some new friends (might as well think of my acne in a positive way) the next morning.

Final Thoughts
The Skin Factory Solution A Plus Ampoule Mask is a no bueno for me in case you couldn't tell. I don't think it's a terrible mask but it was not right for my skin type. It's supposed to calm your skin (chamomile extract), add moisture to troubled skin (castor oil), and soften and brighten your skin (coconut and argan oil). It definitely added moisture to my troubled skin but not in the way I wanted. My skin wasn't any softer than if I hadn't used a mask and my skin didn't seem like it had calmed down. This mask would be great for dry to normal, acne prone skin and people with dehydrated skin. I would not recommend this for anyone with oily/combination skin. Now I'm left with two of these and I'll be giving them away to someone who will appreciate them.
