J:Dew Green Moist Toner and Essence Review

Ivy from Q-depot contacted me not too long ago to review some products from the J:Dew Green Moist Line. I was given the choice of reviewing the cream, emulsion, essence or toner. Much to my surprise and delight I was sent the special skin care set which includes all four products plus two deluxe sized samples.*

About J:Dew
I had never heard of J:Dew prior to receiving these products. The brand is eco-friendly and aims to bring beauty and healthy lifestyle to their customers by using ingredients from Jeju Island "the Hawaii of Korea." The brand name comes from Dew (a clean, pure, and transparent image) and J (clean Jeju Island) which translates to accomplishing transparent, clean, pollution free skin like dew. Their products are free from parabens, mineral oil, animal ingredients, artificial flavor, artificial color, and benzophenone. The brand is manufactured by J'ers which owns two other brands, Reorom and Ecossia.

Green Moist Skin Care Special Set
The set includes a 175 ml toner, 60 ml essence, 55 ml cream, 125 ml emulsion, and a sample size (25 ml each) of the toner and emulsion. The set is currently in stock and retails for $69.99 which is very affordable for a full skincare line, minus a cleanser.

My skin has been quite temperamental these days due to pregnancy and the changing weather conditions. I used the Green Moist Toner and Essence in the AM and PM routine for 17 consecutive days. During that time, the weather fluctuated from 90 degrees with high humidity down to the 70's and not all that humid. Normally around this time of year, I'm an oil slick BUT pregnancy has dried out my skin a bit. So, I've been more on the combination to oily side depending on how hot and humid it is outside. I was a little hesitant to try out a skincare line with the word MOIST in it when it's almost summer but I figured the toner and essence might work for my current slightly drier skin.

J:DEW GREEN MOIST TONER
Cools and moisturizes your skin instantly without stickiness, giving a smooth texture to your skin. The toner is sold individually for $19.99.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerine, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Diglycerine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ethanol, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli Extract), Green Tea Extract, PEG-6+E80 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Arginine, Carbomer, Adenosine, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans

Aloe vera and green tea from Jeju soil effectively soothes irritated skin and moisturizes the deper layers of skin. The adenosine helps to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

You can use the toner one of two ways: soak a cotton pad with the toner and gently wipe your skin with it or pour some into your palms and gently press on to your face for extra moisture. I chose to go with the first option since I didn't need additional moisture.
The packaging is in a frosted green plastic bottle with the brand logo clearly written in front. I like that you can see exactly how much product you've used up or have left. There is a safety cap you can place over the pump if you're prone to dropping products or for travel purposes. I set aside the safety caps of the toner and essence because it's inconvenient to take the cap on and off every time you use the product. The toner, essence, and emulsion all have a pump to dispense the product. The cream is the only one stored in a jar with a screw on lid.

I love the scent of both the toner and essence! It's a very natural, herbal fragrance that reminds me of Aveda products and various essential oils. I find many Korean skincare products to have a strong perfume scent so I'm always happy to find products that don't contain fragrance. Smelling these products made me feel like I was having a spa like experience.
I tend to use toners that are on the watery side in the warmer months but the Green Moist Toner is slightly thicker in consistency than what I'm used to. You can still see that it's on the lighter side but it's definitely one of the more hydrating toners I've tried. It absorbs fairly quickly into the skin and doesn't feel sticky or greasy after application. (The only exception was the 90 degree day when it was humid outside as well.)

J:DEW GREEN MOIST ESSENCE
The essence goes on like a refreshing burst of water, immediately giving moisture and energy to your skin cells. It provides long lasting moisture and smoothness. It retails for $22.99 when purchased apart from the set.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerine, Propanediol, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli Extract), Cyclohexasiloxane, Betaine, Cetearylolivate, Shea butter, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Green Tea Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lavandula Hybrida (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Adenosine, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Butylene Glycol

Also uses aloe vera and green tea like the toner. Moisturizing shea butter nourishes and moisturizes your skin, turning pigmented and rough skin into rejuvenated and radiant skin. Antioxidants from the broccoli extract protect your skin from further damage and return the healthy tone and radiance of your skin.

The packaging and scent of the essence is similar to the toner. I find the scent of the essence a little more noticeable but I personally looked forward to smelling the product every morning and night.

Just like the toner the essence has a thicker consistency than I'm used to, it's more like a milky lotion. Prior to testing out the Green Moist Essence, I was using the Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence which is extremely watery. I only needed to use two small pumps of the J:Dew Essence to cover my whole face and neck area so the product will last forever despite being a smaller size of 60 ml. This felt particularly refreshing and hydrating on days where I used a clay or pore mask.

FINAL THOUGHTS
While I didn't notice a significant difference in my skin while using the J:Dew Toner and Essence, I really did enjoy using both products which offer good hydration to those looking for more moisture. Then again, the only product claims are moisture and smoothing out the skin. I do think the line is more suited for my skin type in the cooler months and I look forward to trying out the emulsion and cream towards the end of the year. I also appreciate the 6 additive free system especially since I've been trying to avoid products with parabens and phthalates in my pregnancy. If I ever get through my ridiculous stash of skincare products, I would definitely consider purchasing both products in the future.
